This volume is a continuation of an earlier project whose result was the book Karnawalizacja. Tendencje ludyczne w kulturze współczesnej [Carnivalisation. Ludic tendencies in contemporary culture]. In this book is presented an interdisciplinary view at an analysis of the problem, which becomes the hedonistic attitude and which is distinctly marked in the culture of our times. Ludic tendencies as a cultural phenomenon have very complex significance and meanings. They also seem to be closely connected with the attitudes directed to the search of pleasure, and also with orientation towards consumption characteristic of our civilisation. Is it why we are worried today about the state of our culture, in which we participate and alarmingly emphasise that its direction towards realisation of pleasure is so dangerous? We are convinced that the articles included in this book will surely make it easier to give answers to the questions posed.
