Publikacja poświęcona jest szesnastowiecznemu manuskryptowi z Nowej Hiszpanii (ob. Meksyk), zawierającemu trójjęzyczny słownik hiszpańsko-łacińsko-nahuatl. Jest to najstarsze znane dzieło leksykograficzne poświęcone jednemu z rdzennych języków Ameryk. Rękopis ten jest prawdopodobnie dziełem indiańskiego intelektualisty działającego w środowisku franciszkańskim, najprawdopodobniej w Colegio de Santa Cruz de Tlatelolco. Celem publikacji jest przeanalizowanie poświadczonego w badanym manuskrypcie słownictwa nahuatl pod kątem wpływu kultury hiszpańskiej i jej języków - kastylijskiego i łaciny.******The book concerns a sixteenth-century manuscript from the colonial New Spain, containing a trilingual dictionary in Spanish, Latin, and Nahuatl. The manuscript is the oldest known lexicographic work in one of the indigenous languages of the Americas. It was presumably created by a Nahua intellectual working in a Franciscan milieu, most probably in the Colegio de Santa Cruz de Tlatelolco. The book presents an analysis of the Nahuatl lexis attested in the dictionary, focusing on the influence of the Spanish culture and its languages? Castilian and Latin.
